An unusual Elgin Model 3 size 12 pocket watch in way above average condition.( 98 or 99%) Watch Ser# is 31242385 putting the date at 1927. The art-deco dial is in great shape. The case is an NAWCo. 14K and is yellow gold filled. What is unusual is the engraving on the back. The watch was 4th prize of " MRS. WILLIAM RANDOLPH HEARST DINNER.. GENERAL SPORTS COMMITTEE.. AUSPICES OF MULDOON-TUNNEY TROPHY COMMITTEE"

Muldoon was a great promoter and Tunney was arguably the best boxer ever. (In 1965, he watched Ali box and said he was a pretty good amateur but needed discipline in his training).
