VINTAGE HEBDOMAS 8 DAY 8 JOUR POCKET WATCH

Vintage Hebdomas 8 day (8 Jour) Pocket Watch.  Difficult to date, as Hebdomas created these beautiful timepieces between 1920 and 1960.  White porcelain dial retains much of its original splendor.  There has been a small repair on the left side of the face above "8 Jours", but otherwise the dial is original, showing the exposed balance staff, which creates an unusual, yet striking, appearance.  Manual wind movement, base metal case measures 48 mm in diameter.  This is called an 8-day watch because it runs 8 days on a single wind.  It does runs for the entire 8 days on one wind, but during the eighth day, as it unwinds, it begins to lose a significant amount of time.  Pocket watch is in working condition and has been serviced recently.
