These watches were presented to twenty-five-year employees of Canada's legendary T. Eaton Company (which went out of business in 1999). Most of them are prized family heirlooms to be passed on to succeeding generations and are simply not for sale. This is an especially desirable and collectible example of these watches for two reasons: (1) Most are signed "Eaton" on the face, but this one is signed "Rolex" as well.
(2) Although it is almost sixty years old, it is in amazing condition. Its recipient must have worn it only on special occasions (or perhaps never). The crystal is shiny and unscratched, and the 14K gold case has only some barely-visible hairline scratches (probably cause by polishing). There is no discolouration of the hands or face (the shadow on the photo is actually the reflection of the photographer ). The face is signed "Eaton", "Rolex", "chronometer" and "Swiss". The works are signed "timed six positions", "Swiss made", "17 jewels adj" and "Rolex". The two hinged covers are signed "14K', "0.585", "115","RWC LTD", "284792", and "1377". \
The stylized presentation engraving reads "Presented to Albert C. O'Hearn to mark a Quarter Century of continuous service to the T. Eaton Co. Limited 1920-1945". A little further research tells us that Albert "C" O'Hearn is Albert Cecil O'Hearn.
Truly an immaculate watch that has gracefully drifted in time to present us with its original perfection.
